There are many unknowns, so a definite <br /> answer cannot be given. <br /> If an attached garage were to be added to the east side of the home it would have to be setback 30 feet from <br /> the front property line. <br /> If a detached garage were to be built, depending upon the size, it could be north of the home with a 10 or 15 <br /> foot setback. An updated survey including hardcover calculations would need to be submitted along with the <br /> permit for the proposed structure. <br /> Also, since the lot is under 2 acres, there is a limit on the structural coverage for the lot. Structural coverage is <br /> limited to 15% of the lot size. According to Hennepin County the lot is .55 acres. Therefore, (43,560 x .55) x <br /> .15 = 3,593.70 sq ft. is the structural coverage allowed on this lot. Structural coverage means house, deck and <br /> shed.
