Unfortunately the retaining wall is too close to the road. Orono <br /> City ordinance prohibits obstructions in the road right-of-way. On your area of Casco Point the <br /> right-of-way is 10' from the edge of the pavement. The 10' is needed for utilities and for road <br /> maintenance such as snow plowing. <br /> Therefore, the City must require you to move the wall back a minimum of 10' from the edge of the <br /> pavement. A deadline of 7/27/98 has been established for removal form the right-of-way.
