It has come to the attention of this department that a deck has been constructed <br /> onto an accessory structure near the lake. This letter is to notify you that the City of <br /> Orono prohibits structures within 75' of Lake Minnetonka. The existing building is <br /> grandfathered in and can stay until it needs structural repairs, then may be required to be <br /> removed. However, the newly constructed deck must be removed. The previous owner <br /> constructed a deck in the same location and applied for an after the fact variance. The <br /> variance was denied and the deck was removed. A deadline of March 1, 2005 has been <br /> established. If this deadline is not met, the City may initiate legal action.
