. •
Christin Mattson
From: Adam Edwards
Sent: Wednesday, January 07, 2015 3:36 PM
To: Christine Mattson
Cc: Melanie Curtis
Subject: 2015-00006 2618 Casco Point Rd
Chris,
I've completed a grading review of the proposed plans for the permit/ property listed in the subject line and provide the
following comments:
1. The southern retaining wall has a lower top of wall elevation than bottom of wall elevation (TW=940.0; BW=941.5).
2. The middle of the southern retaining wall is listed an 4 Ft(TW=945.0; BW=941.0). The northern retaining wall is
shown to be 4 ft. (TW=947 ; BW=943 &TW=946; BW=942; TW=946.5; BW=942.5)Walls 4' or greater in height must be
designed by a licensed professional, and plans must be submitted to the City for review.
3. The site plan/survey does not depict the drainage pattern as required by the City Survey submittal standards.
4. Based on the proposed contour lines, the plan would direct surface drainage from the west of the house into the
southern neighbors property Via a swale. A site plan should be developed to ensure runoff is not directed into the
neighboring properties.
5. A silt fence or other erosion control measure is not is not depicted on the plan. A silt fence or other appropriate
erosion control mechanism should be planned for and must be installed and inspected by the City prior to any land
disturbing activities. The Contractor must provide a minimum 24 hour notice prior to inspection.
Adam
Adam T. Edwards, P.E.
Director of Public Works/City Engineer
City of Orono
(952)249-4661
aedwards@ci.orono.mn.us
