Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to update the Council on the design, presented by Bolton <br />and Menk, for Water Town Road Phase 2 and authorize the solicitation of bids for the project. <br /> <br />2. Background. On May, 20th 2014 Bolton & Menk presented a feasibility study for the rehabilitation of <br />Watertown and Stubbs Bay Road. In 2014 the Council decided to phase the project over multiple <br />years and approved reconstruction of Phase 1 which included Watertown Road from Stubbs Bay Road <br />to Old Crystal Bay Road. Phase 1 was substantially completed in 2015. On September 28th, 2015 the <br />Council approved the engineering and design of Phase 2 of the project. Phase 2 of the project includes <br />Watertown Road from Turnham Road to Stubbs Bay Road and Old Crystal Bay Road to Long Lake <br />City limits. In January the City held an open house for the project. Also in February the State’s MSA <br />Engineer completed review of the design. Final County and State approvals are expected within the <br />next couple weeks. <br /> <br />3. Scope of Work. This phase of the project will consist of the reclamation of the bituminous pavement, <br />select subgrade corrections, and the replacement / improvement of the associated Stormwater system. <br />The project consist of two sections which abut the section of Watertown Road that was reclaimed in <br />2015. <br />a. Section 1. Watertown Road from Turnham Road to Stubbs Bay Road <br />b. Section 2. Watertown Road from Old Crystal Bay Road to Long Lake City Limits <br /> <br />4. Cost. The estimated cost for the project is $1,509,283. <br /> <br />5. Funding. The project will be funded with a combination of Municipal State Aid funds and the Storm <br />Water Fund. <br />Fund Total Est.
