RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 65�J <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) SCHEDULE <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 471.345 authorizes municipalities to enter into contracts. <br />Contracts must generally follow the municipal contracting law (competitive bidding law) except <br />when entering into contracts with professional services; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono finds adopting a schedule to review and compare <br />professional service, through a Request for Proposals (RFP) process, will result in services and <br />prices that best serve the interest of the citizens of our community; and <br />WHEREAS, the objective of the schedule is to create greater accountability and <br />transparency for the professional services contracted with the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the professional services schedule will cycle over a five year time span at a <br />minimum and more often as requested: <br />Professional Services Schedule <br />Service <br />2016 <br />2017 <br />2018 <br />2019 <br />2020 <br />12021 <br />2022 <br />2023 <br />2024 12025 <br />Prosecuting <br />Attorney <br />X <br />X <br />Auditor <br />X <br />X <br />Insurance Agent <br />X <br />X <br />I <br />Fiscal Agent <br />X <br />X <br />Civil Attorney <br />X <br />X <br />Engineer <br />X <br />X <br />X - Year indicates when proposals will be requested. Service may or may <br />not start until following year. <br />WHEREAS, the service will be reviewed by the City Council at appointment time each <br />year in January. During the review process, the City Council will decide whether or not the <br />professional service will be subject to an RFP process. Regardless of the council's decision, the <br />professional service will come up for review again in another 5 years. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED, the Orono City Council adopts a RFP <br />schedule listed above for professional services. <br />
