Portion of the work of this Section is by Altemate Bid — Refer to Section 00420 LIST OF ALTERNATE <br /> BIDS: <br /> a. Base Bid: In-floor hydronic heating throughout the Lower Level and within the Master Bath <br /> b. Altemate Bid: Standard (non-gylcol) in-floor hydronic heating system at the Garage, in lieu of <br /> overhead unit hea#er <br /> c. Altemate Bid: Freeze-proof (glycol) in-floor hydronic heating system at the Garage, including loop at <br /> base of overhead doors and exterior concrete aprons for ice melting; in lieu of overhead unit heater <br /> d. Alternate Bid: Under-floor (transite duct) forced air heating system at the Lower Level, in lieu of in- <br /> floor hydronic heating system <br /> e. Altemate Bid: In-floor electrical heating system at the Master Bath, in lieu of in-floor hydronic heating <br /> system. <br /> B. Heating/Air Conditioning Systems: <br /> 1. In-Floor Hydronic: Complete radiant hot water heating system, including boiler, manifold, controls and <br /> PEX tubing: <br /> a. "Wirsbo", or equal and approved <br /> b. Boiler: 90+ efficient <br /> c. Verify zones and other design requirements with the Architect. <br /> 2. In-Floor Electrical Resistance: Complete system, including electrical mat, wiring and controls by Tile <br /> Subcontractor. <br /> 3. Forced Air: Complete systems; including furnaces, dampers, air cleaners, humidifiers, condensers, unit <br /> heater, ductwork, grilles, diffusers, registers and controls: <br /> a. Fumaces: Gas-fired; 90+ efficient; sealed combustion <br /> b. Zone Controls: "Temptrol", or equal and approved. <br /> c. Air Cleaners: Electronic <br /> d. Humidifiers: Electronic <br /> e. Condensers: Exterior; highly efficient <br /> f. Unit Heater: Gas-fired; overhead mount <br /> g. Ductwork: <br /> — Above-Grade: Galvanized; sealed; insulated within insulated floors, walls and ceilings <br /> — Below-Grade (by Alternate Bid): PVC; solvent-welded, watertight joints; enclosed in rigid <br /> insulation-lined trench <br /> h. Thermostats: Setback-type; white. <br /> 4. Review with the Architect and/or Owner, requirements for system design, zoning and thermostats. <br /> 5. Coordinate ductwork plenums, mains and branch lines with the Architect so as to verify requirements for <br /> soffits and/or lowered ceilings. <br /> 6. Unless otherwise shown on the Drawings, specified herein or verified with the Architect, ceiling light <br /> fixture locations shall take precedence over ductwork runs. <br /> � <br /> 7. Minimize ductwork contained within insulated floors, walls and ceilings. <br /> 8. If under-floor(transite) ductwork is installed by Alternate Bid, verify that interior foundation drain tile is set <br /> below lowest invert elevation of ductwork <br /> C. ExhausWentilation Systems: <br /> 1. Whole-House Ventilation: Air-to-air heat exchangers; properly ducted and vented to the exterior: <br /> a. "VanEE Heat Recovery Ventilation System" (Venmar), or equal and approved <br /> b. Interlock to Bathroom and Kitchen exhaust for 20 minute boost in air exchange. <br /> 2. Kitchenette Range Hood Exhaust (by Altemate Bid): <br /> a. Unit exhaust hood provided by Appliance Subcontractor— provide ductwork and termination as may <br /> be required <br /> b.
