� � <br /> The Sewer Availability Charge (SAC) must be paid to the City before the plumber can be issued a sewer <br /> Connection permit. This SAC fee is submitted by the City to the MCES(Metropolitan Council Environmental <br /> Services) and helps finance the cost of the reserve capacity built into the MCES sewer interceptor system for <br /> new sewer connections. The 2004 SAC fee is $1,350 and this fee has been increasing by $50 each year. The <br /> SAC fee must be paid in the same year that the sewer connection is completed. <br /> A pressure sewer system was installed in this neighborhood which requires the purchase, installation, and <br /> maintenance of a grinder pump. Progressive cavity grinder pumps that are capable of pumping at a constant <br /> flow rate over widely varying pumping head conditions are required for connection to this pressure sewer <br /> system Environment One (E1) brand pumps are the most coinmon and widely used pumps for these types of <br /> pressure sewer systems. The plumber will need to provide the City information on the type of pump used <br /> when obtaining a sewer connection permit to ensure that the correct type of pump is installed. <br /> Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
