(3) Any other act or omission declared by law to be a public nuisance. <br /> (b) It is unlawful for any person to permit real property under his control to be used to <br /> maintain a public nuisance, or let the property to another knowing it is to be so used. <br /> SECTION 3. Division 6 Performance standards, Section 78-1583 Glare or heat of <br /> the City of Orono Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding the following text <br /> Sec. 78-1573.— r''��-� �-' ''^^+Li�htin�. <br /> a;,-o„+oa ., , �,�.�, D ,7:��.-;,,�� .,.,rl ,.,,l,l;.. �t,-oo+� <br /> �a) General provision. An�lightin�used to illuminate a structure, an off-street parkin� area, <br /> or other area in anv district in any residential zonin�district shall be arran�ed so as to deflect <br /> li�ht away from an �Lad�oinin�residential property or from an�public right-of-wa� <br /> lighting shall be installed in accordance with the followin�provisions: <br /> (1)Li�htin�diacent property. Li�hting sources shall not be permitted so as to light <br /> ad'ai cent property in excess of the maximum intensitv. <br /> (2)Architectural/historical li�ht fxtures. Architectural/historical li�ht fixtures that <br /> feature �lobes that are not shielded mav be approved bv the City Administrator or <br /> designee. In no case shall the light affect adjacent property in excess of the maximum <br /> intensity. <br /> (3) Maximi���z h��ensitv. No li�ht source or combination thereof which casts li ng t on a <br /> �ublic street shall exceed one foot-candle (�neter reading) as ineasured froin the ri ht�-of- <br /> way of said street nor shall any light source oi-combination tl�ereof which casts li h� <br /> adiacent residential propertv exceed four-tenths (0.4) foot candles (meter reading) as <br /> measured at the�ropert. 1� <br /> (4) Locatio�z. The li�ht source of an outdoor light fixture shall be set back a minimum of <br /> ten feet from a street right-of-way. Outdoor light fixtures, w11ei� placed within tlle lake <br /> yard, shall be fully shielded. <br /> SECTION 4.
