The undersbory was dominat�d <br /> by mapls ssediinga and some gatiic mustard (A!liar�a petioleteJ but was relatively open with fittle <br /> vegetation. A we�and extended through the center o` the for�sted a:ea wl�h a deep basin on the <br /> nor►hem edge of the survey boundary, <br /> Conifer speaes induding white spruce (Picea glauca), northern white oedar(T7►uja ocdderrfalis),and <br /> red pine (Pfnus rsslnose)were the dominate species surrounding an oki homestead located in the <br /> souit�west c;omer. <br /> The eastem survey area was dominated by green ash (Frexinus pennsy/venlce) and black ash <br /> (Frexinus nlgre) which was located within a large weUand bash with a few inches of standing wafier <br /> throughaut the area. The understary aons€sted of teed canary grass (Phaleris arundlnecea}, <br /> common buckt�flrn(Rhemnus cethertice),and stinging nettles(Urffr�dIolcej. <br /> The home in the north central portion of the survey area was landscaped predominately with blue <br /> spruce (Picee pungensj and ane silver mapfe (Acer seccherinum) and one honey locust (Gledrtsie <br /> frJecsnthosJ, A field break exEendir►g from behind the house toward the east boundary was <br /> dominated by green ash (Fraxinus perrnsylv�nica), boxelder(Acernegvndo) and slippery elm {Ulmus <br /> rubre). The property boundary along the aoutheast comer was dominatso by green ash (Fr�axlnas <br /> pennsylvenrce),boxelder{Acernegundo), and wild p�um (Prunus smer�cene). <br /> The remainder of the slte oonsists of fallow pastu�e land that is domina�ed by grasses, cbvers, and <br /> smafl sapiings.
