<br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />Date: October 26, 2015 <br /> Item No: 4 <br /> <br />Department Approval: Administrator Approval: Agenda Section: <br />Name: Ron Olson RJO City Administrator’s <br />Title: Finance Director Report <br />Item Description: Public Hearing Regarding the Certification of Unpaid Service Charges <br /> <br /> <br />Attachments: (A) Resolution providing for the collection of unpaid service charges. <br />(B) Assessment roll. <br /> <br />Each year the city certifies to the county unpaid service charges to be collected with the following <br />year's taxes. In addition to the outstanding amounts delinquent an administrative fee of $25.00 is <br />added to all accounts. At this time the total to be assessed is $18,576.78 compared to $20,380.24 in <br />2014. The interest rate for the assessment will be eight percent (8.0%). This amount will be decreased <br />by any payments received up to the final payment date of November 25, 2015. A copy of the <br />assessment roll is attached for your review. <br /> <br />State statutes require the City hold a public hearing regarding the assessment of these fees prior to <br />certifying the assessment roll to the County. Notices of the public hearing have been sent to all <br />delinquent properties. The hearing is an opportunity for property owners to ask questions and provide <br />comments regarding the proposed assessment. <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Adoption of resolution providing for the collection of unpaid service charges. <br />
