Crawford and Ann C. Crawford <br /> (hereinafter �the "applicants") filed a petition with the City of Orono requesting the vacation of <br /> � a portion of an unimproved dedicated road right-of-way adjacent to their property originally <br /> dedicated in the plat of Bergquist and �1Vicklund°s Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota in 1888 <br /> and legally described as follows: <br /> • that part of Lake 5treet as dedicated to the public in the plat of Bergquist and <br /> Wicklund's Pazk, Hennepin County, Minnesota �whi�h lies between the extensions across <br /> it of the westerly line of Lot 1, Block 1, Tristana Cc�ve, and the southerly port�on of <br /> the easterly line of said Lot 1; and <br /> WHEREAS, after due published and posted notice, a pu�lic hearing was held <br /> before the City's Planning Commission on January 16, 199G regarding saici vacation and all <br /> interested persons were given an apportunity to be heard; and <br /> WHEREAS, after due standing and consideration, the Planning �onunission <br /> recommended unanimuus approval of the proposed vacation; and <br /> W73EIt�AS, the City Council of the �ity of Orono finds that said vacation as <br /> proposed is in keeping with the public interest and in consideration of the following findings: <br /> 1. Major portinns of platted Lake Street are now located below the Ordina.ry High <br /> Water Level at 929.4 of Lake Minnetonka. <br /> 2. The location of the right-of-way as it e�ists today could never serve for public <br /> road purposes because of steep topographies and preximity to lakeshore. <br />' • <br /> . Page 1 of 2 <br />
