Box 66
Orono, MN 55356 Crystal Bay, MN 55323.0066
RE: New Congtruction - 2320 Fox Street
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Kelley:
On September 24, 1996, I inspected your septic system installation for the existing house at 2340
Fox Street with Steve Weckman, On -Site Systems Manager. During this inspection I noted work
at the new house site at 2320 Fox Street. It appears that risers and/or septic tanks have been installed
connecting the new house to the existing septic system. You may not be aware that the City of
Orono requires property owners to connect new residential construction to a septic system that meets
all Code requirements.
Your site evaluator, Bob Koch, in his report of September 7, 1995 found mottled soil at 29" next to
the existing system. This indication of seasonable soil groundwater saturation demonstrates that the
original system is non -conforming. Per Resolution No. 3660 approving your subdivision, the
existing system must be abandoned.
This letter is to notify you that tine City will not issue a Certificate of Occupancy to allow you to
move into the new house until the property meets all current Code requirements, which includes the
septic system.
In the future, please contact Bruce Vang or myself for septic system inspections. If you have any
questions, feel free to contact Jeanne Mabusth or myself at the Orono city offices.
Sincerely,
Lyle Oman
Building Official
LOAsv
cc: Jeanne A.
