. - :�:�Y::�� C�ty of ORONO <br /> d �: . <br /> � . . ,,�.;� <br /> ' =r;:,'�+'� � RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> ����� . <br /> �;;:�' ' Np. 1520 . <br /> � !•` ,y , ORDERING PREPARATION ' <br /> � � � OF A TRA�FFIC AND ROADWAY IMPROVEMENT REPORT <br /> FOR THE VICINITY OF WAYZATA BOULEVARD <br /> AND NORTH BROWN ROAD , <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and City Council are considering <br /> applications made by Sidney Rebers and McDonald' s Corporation for subdivision <br /> and initial commercial development of property described as tax parcel property <br /> identification number 34-118-23 21 0��1 ; and <br /> WHEREAS, said applications wereconsidered at a public hearing held by <br />. the Planning Commission on August 15, 1983, at which time the City staff , Planning <br /> Commission members and citizens in �attend,ance all expressed concerns about <br /> traffic safety, increased traffic , access to proposed and potential commercial <br /> development adequacy of the existing roads and adequacy of the proposed <br /> development plans to meet those concerns. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orono , <br /> Minnesota, that the City Engineer is hereby directed to perform a study and <br /> • analysis of existing roadway conditions , traffic patterns, vehicle counts and <br /> accident records or other safety problems in "the vicinity of the intersection of <br /> Wayzata Boulevard and North Brown Road; to study the forseeable effects of <br /> commercial development and increased commercial traffic in this area; and to <br /> report to the City Council with all convenient speed advising the Council in. a <br /> preliminary way 1) as to what if any roadway improvements and/or changes in the <br /> proposed development designs might be necessary or feasible to accomodate the <br /> immediate McDonald' s developemnt proposal and to prepare for or accomodate the <br /> forseeable potential commercial development of the entire area in the safest and <br /> most convenient manner possible; and 2) as to whether the recommended , <br /> improvements should be i.nstalled prior to any new development in one step or <br /> whether they should be installed in stages as each part of the area is developed; <br /> and 3) as to the estimated cost of the recommended improvements and the <br /> � responsibility of the C-ity or the developer as to actual installation and/or <br /> payment of the costs of such improvements. • � <br /> The City Council hereby authorizes this study to be commenced subject <br /> to the condition that the benefitted property owner (s) agree in advance to pay the <br /> estimated cost of the study up to a maximum amount to $800. f�0 . <br /> Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono in the 12th day of <br /> September , 1983. • <br /> � <br /> � M r�y C. u ler , Mayor <br /> ATTEST: � G'`/ <br /> A1 erta M. trom,`y ity ler c <br />
