ORONO COUNCIL MENTING HELD MAY 10, 1:,5 <br />Page 13 <br />I would recommend this be referred to the <br />Planning Commission. This would give us <br />ample time to correct any errors and review <br />the proposal before action is taken. <br />On April 26, 1976, Mr. Wells submitted the new, <br />correct survey of the property. This survey <br />shows the property to be quite a bit smaller <br />than the original. The parcel does, however, <br />exceed minimum area and lot width requirements <br />and all side yard setbacks meeting the requirements. <br />This request consists of 2.5 ft. variance <br />from the street setback requirement only. I <br />see no big problem here. I would suggest we <br />not delay the project and recommend waiving <br />work session review and approval of the <br />variance. <br />Planning Co mission Meeting - May 3, 1976 <br />Planning Commission recommended approval of <br />a front setback variance due to the lay of the <br />land and the location of the existing residence. <br />Searles moved, Massengale seconded, to approve <br />the variance for Patrick Wells, 951 Spring Hill <br />Road, as per the Planning Commission minutes <br />of Ilay 3, 1976. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . <br />VARIANCE <br />951 Spring Hill Road <br />(Continued) <br />Henry Muhich, Building i Zoning Administrator, CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />stated that James Abbott, 1000 Brown Road South, 1000 Brown Road South <br />is requesting a variance from our marsh and <br />wetlands ordinance and a conditional use permit <br />to fill and grade within the 26 ft. setback <br />requirement from marshlands. <br />He has started some of the grading and it appears <br />to be extending somewhat into the marsh or up <br />to the edge of the marsh. The attached <br />plans show the existing grades and the section <br />plans show proposed grades. Although the plans <br />show adequate elevation, site inspection reveals <br />aquatic vegetation along the edge of the graded <br />area. <br />We might consider referring this proposal to our <br />engineer for a review and report. <br />Planning Commission Meeting - flay 3, 1976 <br />Planning Commission recommended approval of <br />conditional use permit. <br />Butler moved, tassengale seconded, that the <br />conAitional use permit request for Janes Abbott, <br />1000 Brown Road South, be approved. Motion, <br />Ayes (5) - Nays (0). <br />
