Box 66 <br />Crystal Bay, Minnesota 55323 <br />flk _ <br />FJUI] 2 6 1993 <br />RE: VARIANCE REQUEST, TOM AND SHEILA BROWNE, #1842, TANAGER LAKE <br />(27-141P), CITY OF ORONO, HENNEPIN COUNTY <br />Dear Ms. Mabusth: <br />We have reviewed the documents you submitted regarding variance <br />request #1842. <br />We understand that until recently, the city used its wetland <br />setback of 26 feet rather than the more restrictive lake setback at <br />this site. <br />With this in mind, we will not object to the proposed conversion of <br />the deck to a three season porch if the following conditions are <br />taken into consideration: <br />1. The three season porch should not encroach any further on the <br />lake setback than the existing deck. (The current proposal <br />shows a small area of further encroachment). <br />2. Some of the existing impervious surface (i.e. the basketball <br />. court) should be removed and the area left with pervious <br />landscaping or lawn. <br />3. An unaltered, natural vegetation buffer should be left <br />adjacent the lake. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
