MPRS et al. and Starks <br /> v. MPRS. et al., District Court File Numbers EM 93-218 and EM 93-219 (collectively referred to <br /> � as the "Action"); and <br /> WgIEREAS, by order of the court dated November 7, 1996 (the "Order") in the action, <br /> the defendants are obligated to undertake certain activities relating to the recruitment and hiring <br /> of minority persons; and <br /> • WHEI�EAS, the MPRS has offered to undertake certain of such activities on behalf of <br /> defendant cities which wish to act cooperatively to fulfill their obligation as set forth in the Order, <br /> on terms and conditions established by the MPRS; and <br /> WH[E�AS, the city council has determined that it is in the best interests of the city to <br /> participate cooperatively in the MPRS program; <br /> 1VOW, 'T�ER��O�, �E IT itESOL�D by the city council of the City of Orono, <br /> Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The city authorized and approves participation in the cooperative activities of the <br /> . MPRS in accordance with the terms and conditions established for such participation <br /> by the M�'RS. <br /> 2. The City of Orono is authorized and directed to talce such actions as are necessary to <br /> participate in the MPRS program. <br /> 3. Data provided by the city to the MPRS are to be administerecl in accordance with <br /> Minnesota Sta.tutes,Chapter 13,and the MPRS shall maintain data.on individuals in <br /> accordance with statutory provisions applicable to that data. <br /> • <br />
