� °� � <br /> � o 0 <br /> ��b. - C ITY of ORONO <br /> � ' ti <br /> �� G'�' RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCI� <br /> . ��kESH��� � NO. � �i � � • <br /> A RESOLUTION REFLECTING COUNCIL CONSENSUS <br /> REGARDING AMENDING THE PARKS ELEMENT <br /> OF THE CITY'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> � TO REFLECT THE NEED TO ACQUIRE ADDITIONAL PARK LAND <br /> IN BOTH THE URBAN AND RURAL AREAS OF THE CITY <br /> WHEREAS,the Park Commission has,through substantial efforts, identified a set <br /> of needs related to parks, open space, and trails in the City; and � <br /> � WHEREAS,meeting these needs will require the acquisition of additional land for <br /> parks, open space, and trails in both the urban and rural areas of the City; and <br /> VV�IEREAS,the Council has indicated support for additional park land acquisition <br /> to meet the needs identified by the Park Commission; and <br /> � . <br /> WHEREAS,the current parks element of the City's Comprehensive Plan does not <br /> include the acquisition of additional park land in the City's rural area. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Orono City Council,that it is <br /> the consensus of the Council that the parks element of the City's Comprehensive Plan should be <br /> amended to reflect the need to acquire additional park land in both the urban and rural areas of the <br /> City to meet identified parks, open space, and trail needs. <br /> Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting <br /> held this 23rd day of February, 1998. <br /> . --�-- . <br /> Gabriel bour, Mayor � <br /> ATTEST: <br /> � <br /> ���, � �/.� ' <br /> • Linda S.
