<br />The Orono Planning Commis-
<br />sion will hold a public hearing in the
<br />Orono Council Chambers at 2780
<br />Kelley Parkway on Monday, Sep-
<br />tember 21, 2015, beginning at 6:30
<br />p.m. on the matter of reviewing the
<br />following land use applications, va-
<br />cation requests and proposed zon-
<br />ing amendments:
<br />15-3725 Dale Gustafson on be-
<br />half of Douglas & Roban Smith,
<br />4195, 4175 and 4167 Highwood
<br />Road, LR-1 B zoning district, re-
<br />quest approval of a conditional use
<br />permit and setback variance to al-
<br />low retaining walls (below grade)
<br />within 75 feet of the OHWL of Lake
<br />Minnetonka and potentially exceed-
<br />ing the allowed 50 cubic yards of
<br />earth movement. The purpose of
<br />this joint request is to allow re-grad-
<br />ing of the slope and install subter-
<br />ranean retaining walls to stabilize a
<br />substantial portion of the lakeshore
<br />bank on each of the properties.

<br />quests lot area, lot width variances
<br />as well as front , side and rear set-
<br />back variances in order to construct
<br />a new home on a property 0.32 acre
<br />in area and with 160' in width where
<br />2.0 acres and 200' of width are re-
<br />quired . The new home is proposed
<br />to be set back 22' from the front
<br />and 20' from the rear where 50' set-
<br />backs are required; and 46 .2' from
<br />the south side where a 30' setback
<br />is required.

<br />district, requests a Tier 1 hardcover
<br />variance in order to construct a new
<br />detached garage partially over ex-

<br />25% is allowed .

<br />district, requests approval of a lot
<br />line rearrangement between the two
<br />properties.
<br />15-3784 City of Orono proposes
<br />a text amendment to the zoning or-
<br />dinance related to definitions , lake-
<br />yard landscaping, residential light-
<br />ing, and living walls .
<br />All persons wishing to be heard
<br />are encouraged to attend these
<br />meetings . This is not a final agenda
<br />and is subject to change prior to the
<br />hearings. Written comments are ac-
<br />cepted and should be submitted to
<br />the City of Orono by September 15,
<br />2015 if possible. Interested persons
<br />may review the applications and
<br />proposed ordinance language at
<br />City offices or by visiting the City's
