August 14, 1995
Kraus-Anderson
Attn: Ramona
1400 Bracketts Point Road
Orono, MN 55391
Dear Ramona:
OSTVIG TREE, INC.
SINCE 1933
A Tradition of Excellence
EXHIBIT "B"
This letter is to follow up on our telephone conversation of last week concerning the elm
tree next to the greenhouse.
That paiticular elm was in very poor health. We had removed a large portion of it last yeai·
which had died back.
The excavation of the soil around the tunnel, in my opinion, would have caused so much
damage to the root system that a healthy tree would not have survived. A tree that was
declining, as the one in question, definitely would not have been able to survive that kind
of treatment.
Also, v;ith all the supp01ting roots being removed the tree would have eventually become a
safety concern. Any high wind would easily be able to cause it to fall onto the road so we
felt it was best removed now.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may still have about the
above information .
Thank ~ou, /7
r-1/J~ tfu D.
