.r � <br /> � O� <br /> O O <br /> � b� - CITY of ORONO <br /> � � <br /> � �� G'�' RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> � L�kESH�g'� NO. � O �. s .. <br /> � RESOLUTION ENDORSING CANDIDATES FOR APPOINTMENT TO <br /> MINNEHAHA CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT <br /> WHEREAS, the City Councils of many of the cities lying wholly or partly within the <br /> boundaries of the Mirinehaha Creek Watershed District (the District) have adopted resolutions <br /> expressing concerns about the governance and conduct of activities of the District and resolving to <br /> work cooperatively with other cities in the District to monitor and oversee the activities of the <br /> District; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Orono has determined that it would be in the <br /> best interests of the public to appoint new members to the District who will provide a fresh <br /> perspective, who will work in reasonable cooperation with the public and affected governmental <br /> units, and who will restore the faith and confidence of the public and the cities in the District, while <br /> still accomplishing the objectives of the District; and <br /> • WHEREAS,Minnesota Statutes,Section 103D.311,Subd.3 provides that watershed district <br /> managers are to be selected from a list of persons nominated by one or more of the cities and towns <br /> affected; and <br /> WHEREAS, a number.o£the cities lying within the District, acting through a Steering <br /> committee, have solicited nomination from affected cities and have interviewed candidates for <br /> appointment to the District; and the Steering Committee has found a number of well qualified <br /> candidates who are capable of providing leadership in establishing prudent, consistent,reasonable <br /> and fiscally responsible governance of the District: <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orono that <br /> the Council endorses the following candidates for appointment to the Minnehaha Creek Watershed .. <br /> District and urges the County Boards of Hennepin and Carver Counties to make appointments from <br /> the following list of candidates giving due regazd to representation of the various hydrological areas <br /> within the District as required by Minnesota Statutes, Section 103D, Subd. 3(C): <br /> Hennepin County candidates: <br /> Upper Watershed: . � <br /> � 1.
