I have reviewed the staff report, <br />planning commission ,i.inutes, and proposed resolution granting the <br />applicants' requests. I have reviewed all of the materials in <br />the file including the amendments to the application made by Tom <br />Meyer per his letter of November 22, 1989 and those made by this <br />letter. Noting the concerns of the staff in their report and the <br />"no" votes on the planning :ommission, on behalf of the <br />applicants I present the following. <br />First, the Pillsburys had Tom Meyer ara Herb Baldwin reinventory <br />the site during the week of December 26, 1989. There is a picnic <br />area containing about 330 square feet of hardcover consisting of <br />pavers near the dock 25' from the lakeshore. Originally, this <br />hardcover was overlooked because the pavers are somewhat widely <br />spaced and have overgrown with grass to a significant degree <br />over the past decades. <br />The Applicants hereby amend their_4pXlic,3tion by agreeing to the <br />rr�movol of the 330 square feet of payers which constitutes a <br />,eductinn in existing hardcover in the 0-75' zone from 1,491 <br />square feet to 1,161 square feet. The amount of reduction of <br />existing hardcover (330 q. ft.' exceeds the amount of new <br />hardcover (306 sq. ft.) c7ey are asking to place in the 0-75' <br />zone. Thus, there will be a net reduction in hardcover in the 0- <br />7t•' zone from 1,491 square feet to 1,467 square feet, or 24 <br />square feet. This fact creates ar entirely different legal and <br />practical scenario before the city council compared to that which <br />was before the planning commission in that the net new total <br />
