Gaffron, Senior Planning Coordinator <br />October 14, 1998 <br />I -- <br />SUBJECT: #2421 James and Joann Jundt, 1400 Bracketts Point Road -Renewal Variance - <br />Public Hearing <br />Zoning District: LR-lA, Single Family Lakeshore Residential, 2 acre , sewered. <br />Application: Request for second renewal of setback and hardcover variances originally granted in <br />October 1996 for restoration of an existing retaining wall, underground grotto and lakeshore stairway <br />system located within 75' of the lakeshore. <br />List of Exhibits <br />A -Application <br />B -Plat Map <br />C -Property Owners List <br />D -Survey <br />E -Resolution #3986 (Same content as Resolution #3786) <br />F -Memo and Selected Exhibits from Prior Approvals <br />Summary of Request <br />Please review the exhibits from the 1996 approval . The applicant was apparently unable to complete <br />this project in 1997 partially due to sewer installation on Bracketts Point which made construction <br />access difficult, nor in 1998 due to reasons unknown to staff. The project involves restoration and <br />repair of an existing retaining wall adjacent to an underground 'grotto', restoration of the grotto , and <br />repairs to two lakeshore stairway systems located within the 0-75' lakeshore setback zone. Note that <br />repairs to the boathouse were specifically not included in the prior approval, and are not a part of this <br />renewal application. This review should be treated as a simple renewal of the approval granted in <br />Resolution #3786 in October 1996 and again in Resolution #3986 in October 1997 .. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />In staffs opinion the findings and conditions of Resolutions #3786 and #3986 are still pertinent and <br />appropriate, and staff recommends approval per the prior approvals .
