Date: March 9, 2026 Item: 11 <br />Presenter: Matt Karney, Planner <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Title: LA26-000003, 2245 French Lake Road, Variances - Resolution 7671 <br /> <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />The applicant requests variances for structures and hardcover within the 150-foot lakeshore <br />setback for a proposed pool and patio. <br />2.MN§15.99 Application Deadline: <br />The application was made on January 20, 2026, and deemed complete on February 10, 2026. The <br />60-day review period is to expire on April 11, 2026. <br />3.Background: <br />The applicant proposes to relocate a pool and patio that was previously allowed by variance <br />(LA23-000047) to a new location within the 150-foot lakeshore setback. The previous location of <br />the pool and patio was in-between the home site and the existing septic system within the 150-foot <br />lakeshore setback. Improvements to the septic system will impact the pool and patio area, and the <br />applicants propose shifting the pool and patio to a new area between the house and lake, where a <br />previous patio was located prior to the redevelopment of the site. Based on the reorientation of the <br />improvements <br />hardcover will decrease within the lakeshore setback. <br /> <br />Link to Planning Commission packet. (Application Materials Found Here) <br />4.Planning Commission Vote and Comment: <br />On February 17, 2026, the Planning Commission held a public hearing and discussed the requested <br />variance.
