Date: March 9, 2026 Item: 7 <br />Presenter: Brody Pool <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Title: Replace Capital Equipment - Trailer <br /> <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />To replace equipment trailer #483 with a new equipment trailer that is 4 feet longer and has <br />heavier axles/brakes. <br />2.Background: <br />The Public Works equipment trailer #483 is 14 years old and has been refurbished once already to <br />stretch its life span. The trailer serves Public Works (streets and utilities), Golf, and Parks <br />Department. With the current trailer only having a 16 foot deck and smaller axles, the departments <br />are struggling to balance loads on the trailer so that it will travel down the road safely. Much of the <br />equipment Public Works uses currently is heavier and physically bigger in size, which is also <br />causing issues with the axles, frame and braking capabilities on the trailer. The replacement trailer <br />would be ordered with a 20 foot deck and would be equipped with two 8,000 lbs. axles and larger <br />brakes for safer hauling of equipment. <br />3.Cost: <br />The city received a quote from Lano Equipment under state contract pricing for the equipment <br />trailer and related components <br /> <br />Company Model / Description Cost <br />Lano Equipment FT-16 DDI 20" equipment trailer $ 15,570.16 <br />Lano Equipment Related chains and binders $ 590.12 <br />Total $ 16,160.28 <br />4.Funding: <br />This replacement will be funded through the Equipment Improvement Outlay Fund.
