MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCII. MEETING HELD DECEMBER 14, 1987 <br />#1216 WINSLOW CONTINUED <br />City to use in restoring and widening shoulder areas of <br />Bohns Point Road and save the applicant the cost of <br />removing the spoils from the site. In exchange for <br />a 1 lowing the City to use the spoil s to widen the road on <br />Bohns Point, applicant would excavate the west edge of <br />the existing wetland to compensate for filling on the <br />east side of wetlands. <br />#1217 NAMES TAYLOR <br />1160 TONIKAWA ROAD <br />VARIANCE <br />RESOLUTION #2321 <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to adopt Resolution #2320 <br />approving the amendment of the original conditional use <br />permit application 01216 per staff recommendation. <br />Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 1. Councilmember Callahan voted <br />nay stating he was opposed to the original application <br />and therefore opposed to this amendment to the original <br />application. Motion carried. <br />Applicant/Contractor James Taylor and owner Julie Fearon <br />were present for this matter. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained the request for <br />a hardcover variance to construct a ground level deck. <br />Staff felt that there was little or no extraneous <br />hardcover on the property that could be concurrently <br />removed. <br />Councilmember Goetten asked about the difference between <br />a screening wall and a fence. <br />Assistant Zoning Administrator Gaffron explained that in <br />this case the wall/fence is an extension of the house <br />which meets the side setback and lakeshore setback <br />and thereby allows them the proposed height of 7-1/2'. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to adopt Resolution 02321 <br />approving the variance per staff recommendation. <br />Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />E <br />
