"Drugs are <br />flooding the nation. This year <br />more than 12 tons of heroin, 65 <br />tons of marijuana and 150 tors of <br />cocaine will spread across the <br />nation from major cities to <br />small towns such as those in our <br />jurisdiction. " <br />Kilbo said most of the local <br />drug dealing is done in bar - <br />restaurant parking lots, at large <br />parties and public events, and <br />on dock landir.e,s on Lake Min- <br />netonka. Ile said he has had <br />situations where local <br />waitresses received cocaine as <br />"Lips." "I'd also like teenagers <br />who have been offered drugs but <br />don't know what to do about it to <br />feel they can call us anonymous- <br />ly," said Kilbo. <br />Before the March 30 meeting <br />Mbo hopes to have contacted <br />the South Lake Public Safetv <br />Department in Excelsior, the <br />Mound Police Department and <br />the Minnetrigta-St. Bonifacius <br />Police Departments for input <br />and poszNe liaison. <br />"The small dealer can usualty <br />escape serious charges," said <br />Kilbo. "We believe such people <br />need to know we mean <br />buLsinte ;s. " <br />A representative of the <br />Bureau of Criminal Apprehen- <br />sion will be present at the <br />muting to discuss drug enforce- <br />ment.
