Signs in Band I districts. <br />'Within the B and I districts, nameplate signs, wall and monument signs and business <br />sigB-5 are permitted subject to the following regulations: <br />Section 3: This Ordinance shall be published in THE PIONEER and THE LAKER <br />newspapers and shall become effective upon approval and publication. <br />VOTE: AYES 7, Nays 0. <br />Jurgens asked ifthere are luminance standards in the Sign Codes. <br />Curtis advised that there are such standards in the Sign Code currently. <br />11. #04-3004 BERNHAGEN DEVELOPMENT, 1535 BORNS POINT ROAD, SKETCH <br />PLAN . <br />Staff advised that the Sketch Plan was withdrawn from the agenda. <br />Chair Mabusth asked staff to contact the property owners to handle the three dogs on the site if they <br />want Planning Commissioners to view the site. <br />Leslie asked if the site required a land use notification sign. <br />Gaffron replied none was needed. <br />Gundlach advised she will contact the applicant and determine the status of the application. <br />12. REPORT OF PLANNING COMlVIISSION REPRESENTATIVE ATTENDING <br />COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 22, 2004 AND APRIL 12, 2004 <br />Chair Mabusth reported she attended the March 22, 2004 City Council at which meeting Mr. Ode <br />was denied a liquor license and Reliance Development/Stonebay Marketplace received Council <br />approval of the Comprehensive Plan Amendment. She advised that Marc Fritzler attended the <br />following Council meeting and as he is not present this evening, a report is now unlikely. <br />Jurgens informed the Planning Commission that he had attended the April 12, 2004 meeting in place <br />of Mr. Fritzler and reported that the Reliance Development/Stonebay Marketplace application was <br />reviewed by the Council, as well as the moratorium discussion. <br />Gaffron reported that on the April 8, 2004 City Council work session there was concern expressed <br />about the kind of town home developments being built in Orono, such as construction quality and <br />density issues. There was a consensus to look at the standards in the RPUD for multi-family, <br />attached developments . He advised that Council has placed a moratorium on all development of <br />properties for densities of 2 units per acre or greater. Later it was realized that this would include <br />Page 46 of 49
