Those changes arc: <br />1) Constructing the new slip on the north aide of the existing <br />dock, rather than the south side. This alignment would <br />avoid any disturbance to the vegetated portion of the <br />lagoon which the DNR Aquatic Nuisance Coordinator has found <br />to be of value for largemouth bass spawning habitat. There <br />appears to be less need to dredge to the north as well, as <br />most of the soundings show a 3} foot depth or greater. <br />2) Although there does not seam to be a real need for <br />rearranging the existing dock alignment just to add a slip <br />to the north, we have no objection to the design as shown. <br />I have overlayed the proposed and existing layouts with a <br />northerly slip in mind and found that approximately 8 <br />additional pilings would have to be installed than the <br />number shown for the proposed location. <br />3) It is my understanding that the Watershed District has <br />limited the dredging to 100 feet from shore. We, too, feel <br />this to be a reasonable distance. The channel bottom <br />width, however, cannot e:cceed 15 feet (MN. Rules, Part <br />6115.0201 Subp. 4A), and .+e recommend any revised plans <br />portray this limit. <br />As we discussed by phone last week, we w.il review the groundwater <br />discharge pipe under a separate permit in order to expedite the <br />approval of application 87-6016.
