MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD MARCH 17, 1987 <br />LIQUOR ORDINANCE CONTINUED <br />City Administrator Bernhardson stated that staff drafted <br />the ordinance and City Attorney Blatz has reveiwed and <br />approved it. City Attorney Blatz concurred that. she has <br />reviewed the amendment several times with staff and <br />feels comfortable with the final draft. <br />Councilmember Goetten asked if a separate license was <br />needed for liquor, wine, and non -intoxicating malt <br />liquor. City Administrator Bernhardson explained the <br />three separate classes of licenses required. <br />I <br />Councilmember Goetten asked about the impact on the City <br />of the State changes the closing time of liquor <br />establishments. <br />City Attorney Blatz state hat the legislature makes) <br />the regulations, however cne City can in turn be more I <br />restrictive than State regulations. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sims, seconded by <br />Councilmember Callahan, that Ordinance No. 31 Second <br />Series be adopted as an amendment to Ordinance Chapter <br />4, together with the summary for publication. Motion, <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />1987 LIQUOR STORE COMPENSATION <br />RESOLUTION i2149 <br />It was moved by Councilmember Goetten, seconded by <br />Councilmember Sims, to adopt Resolution t2149 setting <br />the compensation for the liquor store employees for 1987 <br />together with appropriate bonuses fcr the operation over <br />1987. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />1987 APPOINTMENTS• <br />RESOLUTION 12150 <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sims, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to adopt Resolution t2150 making <br />the balance of appointments for 1987. Motion, Ayes 5, <br />Nays 0. <br />ACCRUED BENEFITS POLICY• <br />RESOLUTION t2151 <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to adopt Resolution 02151 <br />providing for funding of the City of Orono severence pay <br />policy. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />
