LAKE MINNETONKA CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />TONKA BAY VILLAGE HALL <br />February 25, 1987 <br />The regular meeting of the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District <br />CALL TO <br />was called to order by Chairman Raecop at 7:47 p.m. on Wednesday, <br />ORDER <br />February 25, 1987 at the Tonka gay Village Hall. <br />Members present: Richard Garwood (Deephaven), Carl Weisser (Excel- <br />ATTENDANCE <br />sior), Richard Nelson (Greenwood), Robert Pillsbury (Minnetonka), <br />.Ian Boswinkel (Minnetonka Beach), Wally Clevenger (Minnetrista), <br />Steve Smith (MOUOJi, -Lien Hurt (Orono), Robert Raecop (Shore- <br />wood), and Ron Kraemer (Spring Park). Communities represented: <br />Ten (10). <br />WATER STRUCTURES 6 ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE: Hurt reported that <br />DEEPHAVEN <br />the committee reviewed plane by the City of Deephaven to reorganize <br />DOCKS <br />and increase its dockage. The committee advised the representa- <br />tives that H It proposal does not meet the minimum requirements <br />of the Via Code, but there may be some tradeoff through <br />el.mination u. the double WAU requirement for dingles to reach <br />the moorings. <br />The committee reviewed the public hearing report for Sailors <br />SAILORS <br />World, and a memo of recommendation. Upon determination of the <br />WORLD <br />need for agreement on the location of the final 4 slips, the <br />committee tabled the matter. <br />Consideration of the District Mooring Area policy was laid over <br />DMA POLICY <br />for further development; drystack storage was laid over for devel- <br />opment background information With interested marinas. Dock <br />DRYSTACKS <br />license renewal applications were reviewed and recommended for <br />approval. <br />The committee reviewed the Minnetonka Boat Works proposal for <br />MINNETONKA <br />reconfiguration and reconstruction of its Orono docks, noting <br />BOAT WORKS <br />that the Tanager Lake dockage will be brought into length confor- <br />ORONO <br />mance with the LMCD Code. the committee approved the application <br />with the stipulation that if there are problems in the future <br />with boat storage at dock ends, the dock ends will need to be <br />fenced. <br />Upon discussion of the need to ptovide dock facilities for the <br />HANDICAP <br />handicapped, the committee recommended that a proposed Code amend- <br />ACCESS <br />etent be recommended for (irrLL n•nJinx. <br />LAKE USE _COMMIT_TF.F: ptllsbur: reported that the IJnuor <br />Buboonunl[tee made reo nnm,e ndatinna to the Lake Use Committee for <br />mndiflcat/nns of the liquor onflnanoe pro prsal, ;,,,d the committee <br />rerononended that the proposed liquor licensinx nnl/nonce be for- <br />warded to the hoard for first re.dtne as modtfied. the committee <br />discussed further without derisu,n the need for h,tvinx licensed <br />boats ,it the Lake after 1 a.m. <br />
