There is an <br />existing private crossing in the name of Jane Slaughter and others <br />located at survey station 1124_+08, Milepost 30.72, the so-called <br />Mapleplain crossing. <br />Since this crossing serves several residents of the City of <br />Orono, and because of title problems of Mrs. "laughter, the City <br />of Orono is reauesting that the railroad agree to provide it with <br />a paolic acre over the railroad property. <br />Could ,you please let is know a) whether the railroad would <br />consent to such a punlic easement, and b) any costs for the <br />easement which the railroad would expect the city to bear.
