AGENDA ITEM <br />Date: February 23, 2026 <br />Title: Contract - Parks Mowing Services <br />Presenter: Joe Ruthenberg, Superintendent - Parks, Facilities <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br />Item: 11 <br />Purpose: <br />The purpose of this item is to gain Council Approval to accept the proposal for lawn mowing <br />services for 2026-2028. <br />2. Background: <br />The latest three-year mowing contract ended in 2025. Parks Department staff solicited quotes for <br />2026-2028 annual lawn -mowing services, and proposals were received from 3 contractors. <br />3. Scope: <br />The scope of the work includes the mowing of selected parks and city property (see Exhibit A) <br />from April through November. The agreement for park mowing services is 3 years, provided the <br />company continues to provide high -quality work. <br />4. Mowing of the fire <br />stations will be billed back to the Shoreline Fire Department. <br />6. Staff Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends acceptance of the quotation of $115,200 received from Shaughnessy Lawn <br />Care. Shaughnessy Lawn Care has held the mowing contract since 2020 and is familiar with the <br />service needs of the parks in Orono. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to accept the proposal from Shaughnessy Lawn Care for park mowing services for the 2026- <br />2028 seasons in the amount of $115,200. <br />Exhibits <br />A.
