AGENDA ITEM
Date: February 23, 2026
Title: Purchase Capital Equipment - Pressure Washer System
Presenter: Brent Weldon
Section: Consent Agenda
Item: 9
Purpose:
To replace the City's existing 1991 Hotsy pressure washer and improve operational safety and
deployment efficiency through a dedicated roll -off mounted hot-water pressure washer unit.
2. Background:
The City's current hot-water pressure washer (Asset ID 715, Hotsy Model 750A, 1991) is 34 years
old and has accumulated approximately 185,575 hours. The unit has lost more than 50% of its
rated operating power and has been rebuilt twice in the past. The heater core is currently
deteriorating and leaking. Continued repairs are no longer cost-effective.
Currently, staff must load both the water tank and pressure washer onto a trailer, secure the load,
and tow the trailer to job sites. This process requires navigating narrow roads and sometimes
backing out of confined areas. Each deployment requires setup time to balance and secure the load.
The proposed roll -off configuration would permanently mount the new hot-water pressure washer
and the existing water tank on a dedicated skid. The unit can be loaded onto a roll -off truck in
approximately 5-10 minutes with all components secured and ready for use. This improves safety,
reduces setup time, and increases operational efficiency.
The unit will be used for:
• Thawing frozen culverts
• Cleaning lift stations
• Washing playground equipment
• General infrastructure maintenance
3. Scope:
Purchase and assemble:
• Custom 12' roll -off skid platform
• Hotsy 1260SSG hot-water pressure washer
• Mount existing water tank
• Plumbing, hose reels, fittings, and integration
4. Options:
• Continue repairing existing 1991 unit (increased downtime and repair costs).
• Continue trailer -based deployment (longer setup time and increased safety risk).
• Purchase dedicated roll -off mounted system (recommended).
Cost:
39
