AGENDA ITEM
Date: February 23, 2026
Title: Benefit Adjustment
Presenter: Adam Edwards, City Administrator / Engineer
Section: Consent Agenda
Item: 6
Purpose:
The purpose of this item is to adjust the vacation accrual rate for Finance Director Maggie Jin.
2. Background:
When Maggie was hired as the Finance Director, effective date of January 8, 2024, she was
credited with 3 years of service time with the city based on her previous employment as the city
accountant. At time of hire, Maggie was placed in the vacation accrual table at 15 days per year.
She has now been in her current position for 2 years which when combined with the 3 years of
service credit brings her to a total of 5 years of service. At five years of service, she is eligible to
progress to the next vacation accrual rate in the table. This will bring her to a vacation accrual rate
of 20 days per year.
Staff will bring back the Personnel Policy for Council approval to clarify the vacation accrual
section and add/amend other sections at a later date.
3. Staff Recommendation:
I recommend approval of moving Maggie Jin to the 20 days per year vacation accrual rate
effective January 8, 2026.
COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED
Move to approve adjusting Maggie Jin to the 20 days per year vacation accrual rate effective January 8,
2026.
32
