� O RESOLUTION NO.�� 3 �� � . <br /> 'g" .�j' <br /> � O ' � A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO <br /> � MII�BYRNES <br /> �,�, Gtiti � FOR ffiS SUPPORT <br /> . �.sgESKOg� OF PUBLIC SAFETY ACTIVITIES ' <br /> IN�HE COMMUNITY <br /> • WHEREAS, Mike Byrnes,having been a charter member of the North Tonka Crime <br /> Prevention Coalition since April of 1990, has served as Treasurer from its beginning; and <br /> WHEREAS, Mike has taken an active role in working with crime prevention <br /> through community awareness efforts; and <br /> WHEREAS, the State Bank of Long Lake, through Mike, has provided donations <br /> toward the Safety Camp for Children, National Night Out, and Neighborhood Crime Watch; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,Mike was instrumental in obtaining donations for the Orono Police to <br /> make it possible to purchase several defibrillators for emergency treatment of heart attack <br /> victims, "Stop Stix" (tire deflating spikes used in high speed pursuits), as well as of�icer <br /> ballistic vests; and , _ p <br /> � r ' <br /> WHEREAS, the Long Lake State Bank, through Mike, has provided financial � <br /> assistance to the Orono Police Department to aid police officers in furthering their education; . <br /> and � <br /> WHEREAS, Mike has been a strong advocate for public safety within the <br /> community and has been a great asset to the Orono Police Department. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orono City Council does <br /> hereby recognize Mike Byrnes for his support of public safety activities in the community, <br /> and does hereby express its appreciation to Mike for his exemplary ei�orts in support of the <br /> community and the Orono Police Department. _ <br /> Adopted by the City Council of Orono,Minnesota at a regular meeting held this 13th <br /> day of September, 1999. <br /> ATTEST: <br /> s - l/�-- �� <br /> inda S.
