Schirmers
October 3, 1989
Paul Bayke
Lot 1, Block 1 F. 1/2
Lauranne Woods
Orono, Henn. Co., MN
This system is Designed for a Type 1, four bedroom home and in accordance
with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Chapter 7080 and local
ordinances.
The soils on this site are typical of SCS soils mapped - HID - Hayden
Complex. A seasonally high water table was located at 46" & 4811,
(mottled soil). A shallow trench system may be installed (future
expansion area) 12" deep with a minimum of 12" of loam cover over
the rock. The soil surface between the trench must be turned over
typical of a mound system.
The soils at a depth of 12" have a percolation rate averaging 7.9
min/inch and are adequate for treating septic effluent.
A pumping chamber will need to be installed to lift the effluent to the
treatment area.
The power supply and switches must be located outside the manhole and
pumping chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A warning device must be
installed with a light and sound device, this is in case of a pump failure.
(Mercury floats are a good method). The supply line pipe must have back
drainage to the pumping chamber.
The present syst-m is functioning properly at this time. Testing was
copmleted for the future expansion area for the existing house. The
existing system is a shallow trench system 12" deep with 2-1000 gallon
tanks.
All neighboring wells are located more than 100' away from the proposed
treatment area & 75' away on this site.
Keep all heavy equipment off of the proposed treatment area before and
after construction as much as possible. The treatment area should be
marked off before construction.
CONT'D
Soil and Percolation Testa
Septic System Design
