RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> �`9kESH.�4�' NO. � � �. � <br /> A RESOLUTION TO VERIFY THAT THE <br /> LAKE NIINNETONKA WOODS TOWNHOME DEVELOPMENT <br /> IS CONSISTENT WITH THE HOUSING ELEMENT <br /> OF THE CITY'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> WHEREAS, the housing element of the City's Comprehensive Plan includes a set of <br /> housing improvement goals; and <br /> WHEREAS,one of the housing improvement goals is to provide opportunities for a inix of <br /> housing types,locations,and cost ranges,which will meet the needs and provide adequate housing <br /> for all age and family groups; and <br /> WHEREAS, the housing element of the City's Comprehensive Plan includes a housing <br /> improvement plan,which is a set of implementation policies designed to achieve the housing goals; <br /> � and <br /> • WHEREAS,one of the housing improvement policies is to encourage developers to provide <br /> a variety of housing types and cost ranges; and <br /> . WHEREAS,the Minnetonka Woods townhouse development includes 29 moderately priced <br /> townhouse units; and <br /> WHEREAS, a relatively small grant would enable a number of these units to meet the <br /> Metropolitan Council's housing affordability guidelines. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Orono City Council does hereby <br /> verify that the Lake Minnetonka Woods townhouse development is consistent with the housing � <br /> element of the City's Comprehensive Plan; and does also hereby authorize the City Administrator <br /> to submit grant applications appropriate to enabling four of the units in the townhouse development <br /> to meet the Metropolitan Council's housing affordability guidelines. <br /> Adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on January 24, 2000. <br /> ATTEST: <br /> ��' <br /> > 6� � v� <br /> • ,, //YL � ' <br /> Linda S.
