IN THE CITY OF ORONO, <br /> HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> FILE NO. 2567 <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Orono is a municipal corporation organized and existing <br /> under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and <br /> WHEREAS, on February 16, 2000, Walfred Properties (hereinafter the <br /> "applicant")� filed a petition with the City of Orono requesting the vacation of an unimproved <br /> public right-of-way adjacent to their property and originally dedicated in the plats of "Wiley's <br /> Navarre Addition", "Townsite of Langdon Park" and "Lafayette Ridge" Hennepin County, <br /> • Minnesota legally described as follows: � . � <br /> Attached as "Exhibit A" <br /> WHEREAS, after due published and posted notice, a public hearing was held <br /> by the Orono Planning Commission on March 20, 2000, regarding said vacation and 'all <br /> interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard; and <br /> WHEREAS, on April 17, 2000 the Planning Commission recommended <br /> unanimous approval of the vacation in conjunction with approval of a commercial site plan <br /> review proposed by the applicant; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orono finds that said vacation as <br /> proposed is in keeping with the public interest and in corisideration of the following findings: <br /> 1. The lane has never been developed for any public purpose. <br /> 2. The lane does not provide access to any adjoining or nearby properties. <br /> 3. This unimproved right-of-way contains municipal sewer, water, gas and telephone <br /> utilities.
