MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />Monday,June20,2005 <br />. 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br />ROLL <br />The Orono Planning Commission met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: <br />Chair David Rahn, Commissioners Cynthia Bremer, Roland Jurgens, Jim Leslie, and Ralph Kempf. <br />Representing Staff were Planning Director Mike Gaffron, Planners Melanie Curtis and Janice Gundlach, <br />and Recorder Jackie Young. City Council Member Bob Sansevere was present. <br />Chair Rahn called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br />CONSENT <br />Item No . 4 was removed from the Consent Agenda. <br />There were no public comments on Items 1, 2, or 3. <br />1. #04-2969 TERRY AND GRETCHEN BLOUNT, 1390 CHERRY STREET, <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />Rahn moved, Bremer seconded, to recommend approval of Application #04-2969, Terry and <br />Gretchen Blount, 1390 Cherry Street, granting of a conditional use permit to allow land alterations <br />within 75 feet of the ordinary high water level of Lake Minnetonka subject to the recommendations <br />of the City Engineer. VOTE: Ayes 6, Nays 0. <br />2. #05-3116 MINNETONKA POWER SQUADRON, INC., 510 BIG ISLAND, <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />Rahn moved, Bremer seconded, to recommend approval of Application 305-3116, Minnetonka <br />Power Squadron, Inc., 510 Big Island, granting of a conditional use permit amendment subject to <br />compliance with the City's building and septic codes. VOTE: Ayes 6, Nays 0. <br />3. #05-3120 CALVARY MEMORIAL CHURCH, 2420 DUNWOODY A VENUE, VAfilANCIE <br />Rahn moved, Bremer seconded, to recommend approval of Application 305-3120, Calvary <br />Memorial! Ch1Urch, 2420 Dunwoody A venue, granting of a sign variance to permit a monument stylle <br />sign 61 square feet in area and granting of a hardcover variance to permit 53.8 percent hardcover <br />within the 250'-500' zone.
