MINNETONKA POWER SQUADRON BYLAWS <br />Page 20 <br />ARTICLE X <br />Active <br />ORDER OF BUSINESS AND RULES OF ORDER <br />Section 10.01 Unless otherwise provided by the <br />Members or by the presiding officer at the outset of <br />the following order of business shall be observed at <br />of the Membership and the Executive Committee: <br />the meeting, <br />all meetings <br />10.01.1 <br />10.01.2 <br />10.01.3 <br />meeting. <br />Invocation. <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Approval of the minutes of the preceding <br />Reports of Officers. <br />Reports of Committees. <br />Communications. <br />Unfinished Business. <br />10.01.4 <br />10.01.5 <br />10.01.6 <br />10.01. 7 <br />10.01.8 <br />10.01.9 <br />10.01.10 <br />Election of Officers (if any to be elected). <br />New Business. <br />Adjournment. <br />Section 10.02 At the annual Meeting, if appropriate, but in <br />any event no later than the first Membership meeting at least <br />thirty (30) days but not more than sixty (60) days after the end <br />of the Squadron fiscal year, appropriate actions shall be taken <br />upon the report of the Auditing Committee before the annual <br />report of the Treasurer shall be filed. <br />Section 10.03 Orderly parliamentary procedure shall govern <br />at all meetings. All questions of procedure not otherwise <br />covered herein or by the policy and authority of USPS shall be <br />determined in accordance with the most current edition of <br />Robert's Rules of Order, Newly Revised. <br />-20- <br />MINNETONKA POWER SQUADRON BYLAWS <br />Page 21 <br />ARTICLE XI <br />NOMINATIONS, ELECTIONS, AND VOTING <br />Section 11.01 Candidates for office to be voted on at the <br />Annual Meeting may be nominated by the Nominating Committee as <br />herein provided for or by petition signed, by at least five (5) <br />active members in good standing filed with the Secretary no later <br />than 15 November each year. There shall be no nominations by any <br />other method except as provided by Section 11.02. <br />Section 11,02 If vacancies exist in the properly formulated <br />slate of nominees at the time of the election, they shall be <br />filled by nominations from the floor. <br />Section 11.03 No person shall be eligible for nomination <br />unless signifying a willingness to serve if elected. <br />Section 11.04 The Secretary shall prepare a list of all <br />nominees as candidates for election at the Annual Meeting, and <br />give notice thereof to members by mailing same at least thirty <br />{30) days before the date of the election. <br />Section 11.05 <br />following: <br />Voting at the eletion shall be in the manner <br />11.05,1 Each active member shall have one vote for <br />each office. Absentee, proxy, or cumulative votes shall <br />not be permitted. <br />11.05.2 Election to an uncontested office may be <br />effected on a supported motion and a unanimous ballot <br />cast and recorded by the secretary. <br />11.05.3 Election to a contested office shall be <br />effected by secret ballot, unsigned and cast in person. <br />Such elections shall be determined by a judge of election <br />and not less than three (3) tellers{ all of whom shall be <br />appointed by the Commander. The ha lots shall be <br />delivered to the Judge of Election, opened and inspected <br />by the tellers, and the final results tabulated and <br />announced to the members before the close of the meeting. <br />11,05.4 Polls shall remain open only for the first <br />hour after the election is initiated as an order of <br />business. <br />-21-
