Becker
28M Black Oak s Lane
Waysata, Minnesota 55rl
RE: Percolation tests on Lot 3, Fairway View, Orono, Minnesota
Dear Sir:
At your request, we made six percolation tests and put down ome soil boring
on the above site. Attached are the results of the tests, log of the boring,
and the plan of their location. Also attached is a possible plan for an on
site disposal system.
The percolation test holes were angered to the derthi shown, the sides of the
holes were scratched, the holes cleaned out, 2 inches of gravel added to the
bottom, and they were filled with about 24 inches of water. There appeared to
be very little frost beneath the snow. After soaking overnight for 18 hours,
all of the test holes except F 4 wore dry. Six inches of water was added to
these dry holes and the water seeped away within 30 minutes. Tbo water levels
in all of the holes was then ad+usted to a depth of about 6 inches, and the
rates of percolation measured at 1(' minute intervals for one hour. The rates
shorn are those during, the last 1f' minute increment of time,
Based on an averere percolaticn rate of an one inch drop in 25 minutes, 230
square feet of absorFtion area are required per bedroo¢ of proposed house.
For a 3 bedroom house, W square feet are required. With 24 inch wide drain
tile trenches, "445 feet of 3r0 n tile are required. Four lines of E5 feet
and spaced 60 feet center to center of drain the trench should work.
Sincerely,
VC..QZ..,. J CX li: '✓tom
William A.
