i� ' <br /> /� O� . <br /> • O O <br /> �,. � CITY of ORONO <br /> � � <br /> �,� G'ti RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> �9kESH�4��' NO. � � � �' � <br /> A RESOLUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR A <br /> TEMPORARY,LIMITED EXEMPTION FROM <br /> ENFORCEMENT OF A PROCEDURAL LAW FROM THE <br /> BOARD OF GOVERNMENT INNOVATION AND COOPERATION <br /> (giEREINAFTER BOARD)TO THE <br /> CITY OF ORONO (HEREINAFTER LOCAL GOVERNMENT iTNIT) <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 465.797, the Board is authorized to <br /> grant waivers from administrative rules and temporary limited exemptions from enforcement of state <br /> procedural laws governing the delivery of services by local units of government; and <br /> . WHEREAS,the Local Government Unit is organized under the laws of the State of <br /> Minnesota; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Board has granted the City of Orono atemporary,limited exemption <br /> • from enforcement of a procedural law in order to allow the Consolidation Committee to proceed with <br /> the drafting of a proposed city charter as an essential element of the merger plan to be placed before <br /> the voters as part of a referendum scheduled for September 12,2000 for the Cities of Long Lake and <br /> Orono. <br /> �TOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Local Government Unit hereby <br /> authorizes and approves the execution of an agreement with the Board for a temporary, limited <br /> exemption from enforcement of a procedural law; and <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that the Local Government Unit's Mayor and City Administrator <br /> are hereby authorized and directed to sign and submit an agreement for said temporary, limited <br /> exemption from enforcement of a procedural law. <br /> Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting <br /> held this 28th day of August,2000. <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Lin a S.
