Gaffron, <br />Asst Planning & Zoning Administrator <br />Date: October 17, 1986 <br />Subject: Information Item - 500`1'onkawa Road <br />The tennis court contractor for Dr. Glen Nelson, at 500 <br />Tonkawa Road, commenced grading wc:-k without permits. Staff's <br />review of the site indicates that a conditional use permit review <br />is necessary for the extensive grading work and retaining walls <br />proposed. Mr. Nelson appeal d at the Council meeting on 10/13/86 <br />for his guest apartment variance and was approved, then he <br />requested some relief regarding the tennis court project which <br />staff had stopped. Council directed staff to allow Mr. Nelson to <br />complete the retaining walls and to finish the grading work at <br />his own risk subject to an after -the -fact conditional use permit <br />application and review. (The review process would have stalled <br />the completion of the grading and walls until spring, leaving an <br />unsupported, unsafe excavation over the winter.)
