County 15 Approval Resolution <br />ISSUE - Does Council concur in the two changes proposed to the <br />County 15 plan that Council has approved back in October 1984 <br />prior to final plans for construction being drawn? <br />DISCUSSION - As previously indicated the County is currently <br />developing final design for the County 15 upgrade. It is their <br />expectation that final plans will the ready in late summer of 1987 <br />with bid award in the fall of 1y87. It is expected that this <br />would mean construction would start very early in 1983. <br />Prior to final designs being develope(_. there are two changes the <br />County would like to have considered and approved by the four <br />communities. <br />A. Count 15 _ Wilshire Boulevard - Commerce Boulevard <br />- The project as proposed required a variance from the <br />Municipal State Aid Review Board. The Review Board <br />after a hearing and an onsite review of the property <br />agreed to approve all the changes except they required a <br />wider section be put on County 15 between Wilshire and <br />Commerce Boulevard in order to make what they felt would <br />be a safer highway. <br />B. County. 15 Lafayette _ Inter locken - The County is <br />proposing at the request of Spring Park and the <br />developer of Twin Birch complex that due to the traffic <br />that a wider section (increased from 24 to26 ) be placed <br />through this area in order to handle turn movements for <br />the traffic. This change remains west of the County 51- <br />County 15 junction. Staff does not see this as a <br />significant issue of traffic concern as it relates to <br />volume for the Orono portion. <br />fir.
