Ebrrhn
Dear John,
We have reviewed releeating, the intersection of Orono Lane and County Road 15
as requested by the property owners. The intersection should be moved approx-
imately 325 feet east of the existing intersection.
We would recommend that the intersection be moved far enough to provide a 350
foot sight distance for traffic coming from the west. This would be the mini-
mum sight distance for a 50 MPH design speed.
The estimated cost to reconstruct the roadway would be $35,000. This is based
on a 24 foot wide street with a bituminous berm curb. The section would con-
sist of stabilization fabric, 2 feet of granular borrow, 8 inches of Class 5
and 3 inches of bituminous surfacing. Soil borings taken previously as a part
of the sanitary sewer project in the area indicates organic material to 10
feet deep. The preliminary estimate is based on the underlying material being
stable enough to support the proposed section. Soil borings will be necessary
if the project is to proceed.
The project cost would be shared by eight property owners which would result
in an assessment of $4,375.00. This preliminary estimate does not anticipate
any land costs fir the project.
We would be pleased to meet with you and the property owners to review the new
access location.
Yours very truly,
BONESTR00, ROSENE, ANDERLIK S ASSOCIATES, INC.
Glenn R.
