Zoning File #1094
November 7, 1986
Conditional Use Permit For Grading/Retaining Walls
The applicants' contractors have submitted suitable plans
for the retaining walls and an analysis of the site by Braun
Engineering, and have obtained the required after -the -fact
grading permit. Wall construction has commenced. The grading
work appears to be only partially completed. No grading has been
done in the 0-75' setback area. City Engineer, Glenn Cook, has
visited the site and has no problem with the project or the
stability of the site, however, he suggests that the base of the
silt fence be anchored to prevent any sedimentation that may
occur away from the lakeshore.
Staff Recommendation:
Staff recommends approval of the variance for the 10' high
fences and the additional retaining wall construction in the
average lakeshore setback zone, and recommends approval for the
after -the -fact conditional use permit for the grading work. A
resolution will be presented for Council review at the November
24, 1986 meeting if Council chooses to approve this application.
