Resolution No. 7 <br />RESOLUTION GRANTIIIG VARIANCE TO GRORGF. <br />HANSON TO ALLOW THE CONSTRUCTION OF A <br />HOME ON BIG ISLAND IN THE CITY OF OR0,140 <br />WHEREAS, George Hanson has applied for a vari:nce to allow <br />for the construction of a home pt a poin* within 75 ti:et of the <br />setback of Lake Minnetonka on Big Island in the City of Orono, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono is concerned about the effect <br />of the granting of any variance on the watershed and thesurround- <br />ing properties now and in the future, <br />NOW, THEFEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br />The City of Orono grants the variance to the foot setback <br />and the hardcover regulations for the following rc3as(,ns: <br />1. The applioant's home that was Moser to the la'r.•! than <br />this proposed home w.is recently destroyed by a fire. <br />2. Because of the topography of t!ie area, tht r.e is :,o <br />ether p ace where this home -ould be placed to be bui!t. <br />3. Because o4 the existence of a :�.latred road bisecting <br />the property, there is no place that this homo could be pl-iced <br />other than at this present .location except at a plac,• even closer <br />to the shores of Lake Minnetonka. <br />4. The applicant aq rees to draft ►t his expense and -)ro- <br />vide to the City of Orono an open spa Vm,int over the remainder <br />of his lot and the other platted lots? c,$rby him on the i91and <br />and to provide to the City of Orono proof of owns rship of r.he <br />property and his right to grant such an easement tc the City of <br />Orono. <br />r� 3. Nothing in this resolution in any way impr,:.es any <br />liability or a duty to act upon the City of Orono concerning <br />the development of this property. <br />16.
