Any other use of Wausau Homes plans, such as providing them to another builder or modifying the plans without permission is prohibited. Even viewing the plans to draw a new, substantially similar plan is a violation of copyright law because copyright protects the expression of an idea, and not just a particular physical copy of a plan or drawing. Unauthorized use of I copyrighted plans or drawings can lead to significant damages, and a violator may be required to pay the copyright owner for any damages caused and any profits earned by the violator, or in some circumstances may be I required to pay statutory damages as high as $150,000 per plan or drawing __ used in an impermissible way.
