Box 66
Crystal Bay, MN 55323-0066
State law requires that Cities shall decide on zoning applications within 60 days from the date an
application is considered complete. The review period may be extended by notification to the
applicant.
Your application was complete on January 23, 2002. The 60 day review period expires on March 20,
2002. The City Council briefly discussed the application at their meeting on February 25, 2002 and
followed the Planning Commission recommendation to request the Park Commission review
applications for vacations within the City of Orono, including Big Island. The Park Commission will
discuss public land vacations, in general, at their next scheduled meeting. The date of that meeting is
March 4, 2002. The earliest potential date the City Council can review your application will be some
time after the Park Commission has had an opportunity to complete their review. Because the 60 day
review period will likely not be until after March 20 th , the City of Orono has extended the review
period an additional 60 days to May 19, 2002.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have questions.
Sincerely,
1?JtJ~
Paul Weinberger
Zoning Administrator
Telephone (952) 249-4600 • Fax (952) 249-4616
www.ci.orono.mn.us
